Yves Bolduc is a graduate in medicine, public administration and bioethics.
He has worked as a general practitioner, an emergency physician, director of professional services, university lecturer and speaker. For nearly 30 years he has devoted himself to numerous organizations and boards of directors in the hospital, economic and sports sectors. For example, he has served on the boards of directors of the Jeux du Québec and the Chambre de commerce d’Alma, as a member of the ethics committee of the Conseil de la santé et du bien-être, and as president of the Association des conseils des médecins, dentistes et pharmaciens du Québec.
He was first elected in 2008 as MNA for Jean-Talon riding. He is concerned with enhancing access to health care and was appointed Minister of Health and Social Services that year. He also served as Minister responsible for the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region, then as Minister responsible for the Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Bas-Saint-Laurent regions.
He was re-elected in the general election on April 7, 2014 and now occupies the positions of Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Science, and Minister responsible for the Côte-Nord region.
